For people managing work, family responsibilities, or limited transport, travelling to an appointment can be one more barrier standing between them and support. Telehealth has changed this considerably, allowing many appointments to happen from wherever is most comfortable. Taking this step does not commit anyone to a particular outcome, only to honesty.

A telehealth session with a GP, psychologist, or counsellor works much like an in person appointment, just conducted by phone or video. It suits people who find travel difficult, live far from services, or simply prefer the comfort of a familiar space. This is worth doing even when it feels awkward or uncertain at first.

If you would like to talk to someone today rather than wait for an appointment, Lifeline is available on 13 11 14 at any hour, without any need to book ahead. Many people look back and see this kind of moment as more significant than it felt at the time.
