University Counselling Services Are Open to Every Student

University life brings its own particular pressures, from academic deadlines to being away from familiar support networks for the first time. Most universities offer free or low cost counselling specifically for enrolled students, often without a long wait for an initial appointment. It is entirely normal for this to take more than one attempt.
These services are usually confidential and separate from academic records, meaning a visit to a counsellor has no bearing on grades or standing. Many campuses also offer group sessions and workshops, giving students more than one way to access support. This does not need to be complicated to be genuinely helpful.
If support is needed outside semester hours, Lifeline is available on 13 11 14 at any hour, and Kids Helpline supports people up to twenty five on 1800 55 1800. Even a small shift in this direction can make a noticeable difference over time. This holds true regardless of how long a difficulty has been going on for.
