Kids Helpline is a free, confidential counselling service specifically for young people aged five to twenty five, covering everything from everyday worries to serious crises. It is staffed by counsellors trained specifically to work with children and young people. This matters whether it happens once or becomes part of an ongoing pattern.

Support is available by phone, webchat, or email, giving young people options that suit how they prefer to communicate. Conversations are private, and young people do not need parental permission to reach out for support. Genuine curiosity tends to carry this further than any particular set of words.

Kids Helpline can be reached on 1800 55 1800, at any hour, for anyone aged five to twenty five who needs someone to talk to. This is one of those situations where trying counts for more than getting it perfect. It helps to remember that most people are more receptive to this than expected.
