13YARN is a national crisis support line specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, staffed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander crisis supporters who understand the cultural context behind a caller's experience. This is true whether the difficulty has just begun or has lingered for a long time.

The service is built around the idea of yarning, a culturally grounded way of talking and connecting, offering support that feels familiar and safe rather than clinical or unfamiliar. It is confidential and free to call. None of this requires getting everything right on the first attempt.

13YARN can be reached on 13 92 76, at any hour, and Lifeline is also available around the clock on 13 11 14. Small, imperfect steps still count as genuine progress. This applies just as much on an ordinary day as during an obvious crisis. It is worth remembering that reaching out rarely goes as badly as it feels it might beforehand.
