A support service that exists but is buried in a rarely opened policy document offers little practical help. Making resources genuinely visible, on noticeboards, in regular communications, mentioned aloud by leaders, matters just as much as having them in place at all. This kind of care tends to leave a lasting impression, even in a brief exchange.

Repetition helps here. Mentioning available support more than once, in more than one format, ensures the information reaches people at the moment they actually need it, rather than relying on someone remembering a single mention from months earlier. Nobody expects this to be handled flawlessly, only handled with genuine care.

Workplaces can display these numbers prominently: Lifeline on 13 11 14 at any hour, and Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636. This is worth keeping in mind on days when everything else feels uncertain. Patience with this process tends to be rewarded over time. This matters just as much for the person offering it as for the person receiving it.
