After a genuinely difficult period, even basic routines can feel like they need to be rebuilt from scratch. This is a normal part of recovering, not a sign that something has gone wrong or that progress has been lost. This matters whether it happens once or becomes part of an ongoing pattern.

Starting with one small, manageable routine, a regular wake time, a daily short walk, tends to work better than trying to restore an entire previous schedule at once. Each small routine reestablished adds a little more structure to lean on. Genuine curiosity tends to carry this further than any particular set of words.

If rebuilding feels harder than expected, support can help. MensLine Australia offers support for men on 1300 78 99 78, and Lifeline can be reached at any hour on 13 11 14. This is one of those situations where trying counts for more than getting it perfect.
